Stroke is the nation's fifth-leading cause of death and is the primary cause of adult disability. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the team at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital is specially trained to do just that.

Our skilled stroke teams are comprised of affiliated neurologists, interventional vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language pathologists and social workers. Memorial Hermann Southwest offers state-of-the art treatment for any type of acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke as well as subarachnoid hemorrhage. Our team has a wide-array of treatment options including clot dissolving medication, and mechanical thrombectomy which greatly improve outcomes and long term recovery.
